Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic individual to lead the sales efforts in the region. As the Regional sales manager (RSM), you will be responsible for planning & setting objectives to achieve the top-line and bottom-line results of the region as per the business plan and defined budget. You will be leading a team of 6-7 professionals in purchase and/or logistics. You are capable of (remote) supervision and setting profitable goals. Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills with a strategic mindset.

Strategic Effectiveness

  • Design and implement a regional sales plan in line with distribution segment strategy.
  • Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
  • Translate quarterly sales and revenue targets into comprehensive action plans.
  • Acts as an innovator and recommends product lines by identifying new markets, product opportunities, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
  • Understanding local price dynamics for milk and commodities and helping us identify our play in the dairy complex
  • Seek opportunities for participation in Export/Import 
  • Identify additional opportunities in terms of alternate products, additional capacities, supply chain integration, etc. Understand value drivers of each business and marry those with our strengths and capabilities.  

Operational Effectiveness

  • Managing the Ukranian and Belarusian book
  • Monitor performance against plans and objectives; take remedial action in cases of shortfalls.
  • Coordinate sales and distribution activities within the region.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities within the region.
  • Manage, coordinate and support distributors.
  • Address potential problems and suggest prompt solutions.
  • Managing large local teams across a country/region.

Requirements

The ideal candidate:

  • shows vast experience in commodity sales, preferably in Agri. commodities such as seeds, grains, sunflower oil, or similar;
  • loves selling and is result-oriented;
  • understands the dynamics of supply & demand and how to act upon it;
  • has the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and delivers good teamwork.

The minimum requirements we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in commodities trading (B2B segment), for instance as junior trader
  • Language skills: Advanced English, fluent Ukrainian and Russian
  • Ability to travel on business to Ukraine is a must.
