Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager Operations is responsible for managing the logistics and trade operations for selected origins.

 

What you will do:

  • Prepare and execute contracts/sales orders, working with customers & sales team  
  • Liaise with origin / supplier / own production site to ensure orders are logged and executed as per customer’s requirements.
  • Tracking of shipments & documents and ensuring that we meet the KPI’s requirements
  • Good understanding of contract management, payment terms and import/export documentation
  • Understanding shipping incoterms, as well as basic knowledge of Bills of Lading
  • Liaise with banks, shipping lines, suppliers, traders, agents and customers as well as our offices across the globe
  • Check and submit all export shipping documents to customers and / or their representative banks
  • Basic understanding of the definition and application of both debit and credit notes
  • Administration work such as keeping track of Bills of Lading; and regular housekeeping

 

Who we are looking for:

  • Degree/Diploma holder with 5-10 years working experience
  • Ability to have supervisory responsibility and to lead a team to ensure output through the implementation of basic work processes and standards
  • Self-driven/motivated individual 
  • Effective communication skills - verbal/written
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines
