Role overview

The LCA Modeller is a key member of the AtSource team working with one other LCA modeller. 
You will play a critical role in maintaining and developing LCA methodology for the inhouse AtSource Digital Footprint Calculator.

AtSource is ofi’s award winning sustainability insights platform for agricultural supply chains, purposefully created to demonstrate social and environmental impact and drive change for farmers, communities and ecosystems. 

This is a global role which will require collaboration with multiple stakeholders in ofi. You will work closely with CR&S, Finance for Sustainability and MATS (Manufacturing and Processing) function, as well as business units such as Spices, Coffee, Cocoa, Nuts & Dairy. In addition, you will liaise with third party service providers, to build strong relationships and deliver consistent, accurate, and timely footprints. 

Role responsibilities

  • Co-lead the advancement of existing agricultural LCA models . Focus on modelling emissions related to agricultural and on-farm practices (e.g: crop residue management, wastewater treatment, manure & fertilizer application, soil emissions)
  • Work with Olam digital to ensure agricultural LCA models are digitised  
  • Be a point of contact for all technical questions relating to LCA in ofi 
  • Identify sources of error and inconsistencies with data, ensuring they are resolved while cap-turing issues for learning purposes
  • Use expertise in modelling to drive insights
  • Identify opportunities to automate data collection and verification
  • Document foot printing methodologies and processes to enable replicability and verification 

Person requirements

  • Educated to Masters/PhD level in Life Cycle Assessment, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Ecology, Agriculture, Chemical Engineering or similar
  • Proven experience in building models of emissions of agricultural and on-farm practices
  • Proven experience in building, maintaining and digitising LCA tools
  • Experience in working with digital teams to develop LCA tools
  • Competency in a coding language (e.g., SQL, phyton, etc.) 
  • Ability to direct and train data analysts in data acquisition 
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in LCA/agricultural systems, preferably including experience in industry
