Overview of the position
The Regional Head of Safety, ACO Region will lead the implementation of company Health & Safety programs across all ofi locations within this region. Will provide leadership, technical and tactical support for global H&S programs and regional safety roadmap. Will work with local safety teams, operational and business leaders to serve and support our facilities with the execution of company safety programs that will be built a strong “Zero Incident” culture within ofi.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership mindset
- Build management ownership and enthusiasm around ofi Safety Strategy, Regional Safety Roadmap and the journey of building and reaching the high maturity level of safety culture following “Zero Incident” approach.
- Communicate and build engagement with leadership teams to get their support, involvement and endorsement to the H&S programs and initiatives.
- Create and enhance a dynamic safety network within the region/product platforms
Capability enhancement
- Recognize common safety risks across assigned region/product platforms, recommend changes and eliminate identified risks.
- Establish and maintain an effective process of reporting, investigating and follow up on safety incidents within the region.
- Conduct regular facility visits within the assigned region, provide support and coaching. Do effective follow-up of identified areas of improvements
Global initiatives
- Participate and collaborate in the design of global safety programs, initiatives, policies and procedures as well as piloting them within the Region and assure further implementation.
- Participate in an internal global safety audit program.
- Ensure alignment while developing regional safety roadmap with the Global Safety Strategy and key global initiatives, follow up and complete enablers and reach the agreed KPI’s.

Position key focus and drivers in the coming 2 years
- Develop and implement regional safety initiatives and campaigns that strengthen safety culture.
- Develop our leaders (be the coach) on safety leadership skills across all levels.
- Actively partake in the design stage of each project and advise on safety aspects to be implemented at new investment projects. Advise and follow up on execution of the Safety Capex.
- Support investigations of serious events, lost time incidents, process incidents, as well as provide coaching on reaching a high quality of these investigations’ outcomes.
- Perform effective preventive and corrective actions follow-up with special focus on reducing the likelihood of serious incidents or incidents having serious potential.

- Develop the competencies required to add value to safety. Drive personal development programs for safety professionals within region/product platforms, cooperating with global and regional leadership and functions.
- Develop and deliver training and workshops on health and safety topics as relevant to this region/product platforms
Qualification & other requirements
- Master’s degree in industrial/occupational health and safety or engineering with an emphasis on safety, or closely related field.
- 10-15 years of Industrial, Occupational Health and Safety experience in a manufacturing environment with 2-4 years at a Regional Level.
- Strong leadership skills; driving change, creating engagement and an experienced safety trainer and coach. Assertive and strong believer in the power of teamwork and alignment.
- Strong organizing, planning, analytical problem-solving and decision-making are required.
- Ability to interact across all levels in the organization and build trustful relationships with key stakeholders.
- Expertise in developing and implementing culture change.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products -- Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point
