We’re one of the world largest global suppliers of spices and herbs, sourcing from all the primary growing regions 
and offering everything from onion, garlic and chiles to pepper, parsley and tropical spices. Provenance, taste, 
quality, color and texture – there's not a lot we don’t know about spices and the important role their attributes play
in our favourite foods.

Job Role summary

As Area Sales Manager, you are accountable for the success of our portfolio in your area. You will manage the existing sales and develop a strategy for growth through a deep understanding of the market and customer needs.

Reporting into the VP – Spices EMEA, you will work in close cooperation with the origins, sales, the customer operations teams, and quality department. 

 

Job Description

As Area Sales Manager at ofi Spices you will…

  • Be the expert in each market under your responsibility, including market players, main customers, legislation, trends, cultural preferences, relevant associations, etc.
  • Develop and implement a growth strategy in the area.
  • Be a product expert and provide guidance to customers on procurement time.
  • Manage existing customers in the area with a focus on growth. 
  • Build, develop and maintain constructive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders at our customers. 
  • Pro-actively develop sales opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Manage contract negotiations in close cooperation with the respective product origin teams.
  • Maintain and manage your project pipeline actively.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts.
  • Report on activities and actively use the CRM tools. 
  • Travel as needed.

Requirements

Ideally with 5+ years of experience in the Spices industry and the market to be managed.

  • With a Bachelor degree or higher. 
  • Able to fluently communicate in English, any other European language would be an asset, specially one used in the market to manage.
  • Creative in finding solutions, a strategic thinker who also takes action and executes. 
  • With a passion for business development and revenue growth.
  • Able to understand market dynamics
  • The ability to communicate with and influence decision-makers at all levels. 
  • With a go-getter attitude and an accountable personality with full ownership of responsibilities
  • Results-oriented, with good negotiation skills and the ability to link short-term goals with long-term goals for customers and Olam.
  • A natural born people person, with very good listening skills and with the ability to create strong relationships with customers.
  • Flexible and open to new situations and people, enthusiastic, assertive, commercially minded, with a hunger for new learnings and fun to work with.
