Job Title:                              Technical Portfolio Manager APAC Cocoa Powder, Ingredients Excellence Centre, Cocoa

Introduction of the role

This role is responsible for the technical support of ofi cocoa ingredient product lines as produced in Asia and components that are imported into Asia. Focus areas for this role would be supporting internal projects for portfolio optimization and efficiency as well as competitor analysis to help identify gaps in ofi assortment and to support the positioning of the global cocoa brands.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support in operational projects such as portfolio optimization, contingency plans for the ofi cocoa factories and (cake) recipe optimization.
  • Assists product line management in execution of their strategy and support in the projects to optimize costs, quality, and differentiation of ofi cocoa powder portfolio and the positioning of the brands.
  • Coordination and execution of cocoa powder application performance and functionality (development of USP’s) of new and existing cocoa ingredients. Seamless coordination of advanced application with CSCs.
  • Being single point of contact for new ingredient functionality during scale up and commercialization; where required conduct trials alongside CSC category experts to achieve seamless delivery.
  • Organization of internal and external training programs/seminars for cocoa ingredients to ofi teams and customers.
  • Maintains knowledge of ofi cocoa ingredients up to date and keeps contact with other ofi locations around the globe.
  • Collects particularly technical information about competitors and competitors-products and keeps it sufficient and accessible for the IQFS community in ofi.

Qualification & other requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in food technology or similar discipline.
  • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in cocoa ingredient characteristics and functionality, in-depth understanding of cocoa processing and application performance.
  • Knowledge of cocoa quality parameters, methods and quality standards linked to ofi customers expectations.
  • Excellent sensory skills and 5+ years of experience in color assessment.
  • Good project- and time management skills, being able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Has integrity, is inclusive and treats internal and external stakeholders with respect.
  • Excellent communication and social skills. Listens well. Fun to work with and open minded.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English and any other Asian languages will be an advantage.
  • This position requires travelling (30%).
