About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Salesforce Senior Product Owner to join our team and drive the ongoing development and optimization of our Salesforce platform. As the key liaison between six business platforms, five regions and IT technical teams, the Salesforce Senior Product Owner will play a critical role in defining product vision, gathering, and prioritizing requirements, and ensuring successful delivery of Salesforce solutions that align with business goals. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Head of Global Strategic Accounts, the Salesforce Senior Product Owner will serve as a key interface between business and technology, ensuring that Salesforce delivers measurable value to the organization.  The role is based in the Netherlands and requires international travel to support global initiatives, foster cross-regional collaboration, and engage with senior strategic stakeholders. 

Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership: Act as the primary owner of the Salesforce platform, translating business needs into a clear product roadmap and backlog.
  • Requirements Gathering: Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Service, Operations, IT) to capture business requirements and user stories.
  • Backlog Management: Define and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring features deliver maximum value and align with strategic objectives.
  • Sprint Planning & Delivery: Collaborate with Salesforce developers, admins, and architects during sprint planning, grooming, and review sessions.
  • Training & Superuser Network: Build and maintain a superuser network with change champions and trainers in every business platform and region, providing training both to new-comers and refreshers to existing colleagues as platform updates. Developing and updating training materials, webinars and company intranet pages. Serve as the voice of the customer and key point of contact for commercial stakeholders in sales, marketing, innovation, sustainability, quality & food safety, legal & compliance, ensuring transparency and managing expectations.
  • Testing & Validation: Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), validate that solutions meet requirements, and facilitate training and documentation.
  • Data Governance: Ensure data integrity, compliance, and consistency across the Salesforce ecosystem and represent Sales & marketing data quality needs in all upstream & downstream applications.
  • Platform Expansion: Drive the adoption of new Salesforce features and products (e.g., Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud) as business needs evolve.

Organizational Effectiveness

  • Adoption: Coaching platforms and regions to adopt and adhere to global commercial processes on Salesforce is a key deliverable.
  • Global Strategy Alignment: Collaborate with senior leadership to align Salesforce capabilities with global commercial strategies, ensuring platform development supports long-term business goals across all regions.
  • Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly engages with executive level stakeholders across platforms and regions to gather strategic input, communicate roadmap progress, and ensure alignment with global priorities. Serve as the voice of the customer and key point of contact for commercial stakeholders in sales, marketing, innovation, sustainability, quality & food safety, legal & compliance, ensuring transparency and managing expectations.
  • Change Management Leadership: Lead global change management initiatives related to Salesforce adoption, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and impact analysis across diverse culture and operational contexts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, implement automation, and enhance the user experience through Salesforce capabilities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7 years of experience with 3+years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role within a Salesforce environment ideally from an industry with manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • In-depth understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Configure to Quote, Marketing Cloud, etc.)
  • Proven experience gathering business requirements and managing product backlogs
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Salesforce certifications (Admin, Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder, or others) are a plus to the role.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other product management tools is preferred

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Salesforce integration tools and third-party applications
  • Experience working in a B2B or enterprise SaaS environment
  • Experience with sales methodologies such as Miller Heiman, Account-Based Selling, and Solutions Selling.
  • Understanding of lead-to-cash or customer lifecycle workflows
