Job Description
As Quality and Food Safety Manager - Contract Manufacturing you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Contract manufacturing Quality systems & control.
In this role, you'll report directly into the Head of Contract Manufacturing F&B Solutions EMEAI, with a functional dotted line to the Quality and Food Safety Lead - EMENA and Africa.
Key Deliverables
In this role, you will be working closely together with our co-manufacturing partners, ensuring that Food Safety and Quality is an integral part of the work of all the site processes.
By monitoring and maintaining the Contract Manufacturing Quality systems and control, you'll ensure compliance to regulatory, federal and local laws.
Amongst your responsibilities:
- Identification and achievement of Quality KPI's through appropriate corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives in the Enhancers area.
- Actively supporting all internal and external auditing activities and follow-up.
- Act as support for implementation and verification of internal, legal, and customer requirements and specifications including ISO, GFSI;
- Use internal Quality guidelines and HACCP guidelines to lead the development of new quality systems/programs across the contract manufacturing area
- Provide Quality support/resources for major commercialization projects.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead HACCP initiatives and oversee the implementation of quality and food safety programs.
- Drive QC testing programs to enhance production processes and final products.
- Perform quality checks and review policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Develop and issue certificates of analysis for finished goods.
- Assess complaints and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Draft and monitor Corrective Action Plans, ensuring timely follow-ups and appropriate responses to non-conformances.
- Provide training and information on HACCP and hygiene practices.
- Identify trends and root causes impacting Q&FS KPI metrics for contract manufacturers.
- Investigate and address root causes of consumer complaints related to food safety.
- Assist in developing procedures and follow up on corrective actions as assigned.
- Monitor and maintain internal Q&FS programs for contract manufacturing, ensuring compliance with internal regulations, customer requirements, and international audit standards (FSSC/ISO).
- Support annual verifications and re-validations of all HACCP plans, especially during project changes.
- Ensure all specifications, KPIs, internal Q&FS guidelines, and FSSC/ISO plans are maintained, updated, and approved as required.
- Manage the Hold/Release process efficiently
Requirements
- A completed bachelor's degree in Food Technology or Food Processing
- 8+ years of work experience, preferably in a dynamic production environment such as the food industry
- Relevant work experience as a manager of a quality department in the process industry
- Proven capability of complex stakeholder management.
- Keeps the overview, has a good sense of what is important and prioritize accordingly.
- A hands-on, and no-nonsense attitude.
- Thrives in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, making sound decisions with limited information.
- Decisive, stress resilient and strong communication skills.
- Fluent in English (verbally and in writing).
- Advanced data analysis skills.
