Reporting to the Global Head of NCP Logistics Procurement, the Regional Ocean Freight Procurement Manager will be responsible for ocean freight including the subcategories containerized shipping, freight forwarding, and drayage. 
Your main challenge will be to secure the best position for ofi in ocean freight market. In this position you will make an important contribution to the logistics strategy, which is one of key categories for ofi, working with regional stakeholders across 6 Business Units and global/regional suppliers.

Key objectives of job 

  • Regional procurement of logistics (all aspects; specify, negotiate, contract etc.) for the sub-category Ocean freight (50% time spent)
  • Support development of a coherent regional Logistics plan aligned with the global Logistics Strategy and the individual Business lines logistics requirements (20%)
  • Contribute to operational Issue resolution to support the businesses in the region (20%)
  • Participates in projects on logistics procurement related topics. (10%)


 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to negotiation, and execution of key contracts with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of ocean freight and services.
  • Exploit synergies among all business lines in the region and across regions logistics network(s) identifying, developing and implementing the optimal ofi regional logistics footprint.
  • Deliver savings with P/L impact and process optimizations to Business lines
  • Lead / support logistics tenders and strategic sourcing activities
  • Lead Global regional supplier meetings
  • Ensure logistics tools & processes are used in the ‘ready to serve” arena
  • Transfer best practices among Europe Business lines
  • Stakeholder Management (monthly meetings, supporting their business requirements and identifying opportunity areas)
  • Last escalation point for operational challenges related to contract execution
  • Partner with other functions on cross-functional projects (e.g. SAP S4Hana, global master data, sustainability reporting etc.)

Requirements

  • At least bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain/Logistics or Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in Logistics Procurement, preferably in Ocean Freight.
  • Strong background in logistics and supply chain.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing (7 steps) and supplier/contract management.
  • Data driven person with strong analytical skills.
  • Very good organizational skills and cross functional project management experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others.
  • Nice to have: experience with tender tools such as Coupa for building logistics events and/or Transport Management System (e.g. Oracle)
  • Fluent in English (both verbal and in writing), nice to have: Spanish and/or Portuguese.
  • The ability and willingness to travel up to 15% of the time is required.
