Position Summary
Reporting to the Global Head, Learning and Development and partnering closely with the Regional Head, HR (Africa), the Regional Head, Learning & Development will be responsible for leading a cohesive Learning Strategy across the various Africa businesses while aligning with global-focus.
At its core, this role is about creating a culture of learner-led, continuous learning and growth through interventions and resources that enables high individual / team performance and growth, which drives business outcomes. The role will partner with HR Partners (across matrix) and the broader L&D, Talent community to draw insights from both business and people strategy to design, curate and deliver bespoke learning solutions. He / She will be responsible for facilitating critical capability-building and leadership development so as to enable successful execution of our strategic priorities.
Position Responsibilities
• Work closely with the business to draw insights and understand learning needs to ensure learning solutions while globally designed, is nuanced for local implementation.
• Collaborate with business in defining a learning strategic plan required for building critical capabilities, aligned with business strategy.
• Translates the learning strategic plan into pragmatic, multi-year learning journeys implementable across business and geographic borders while ensuring consistency with talent practices.
• Create flexible and scalable learning interventions to meet the diverse needs of varied workforce-settings.
• Collaborate with the global L&D team and broader Talent CoE, internal stakeholders and external partners to custom design, deliver and sustain learning & development interventions.
• Own the full employee learning and development lifecycle from learning needs analysis to solution-design to implementation and finally return-on-development (ROD) measurement. This includes managing the allocated budget and reporting on relevant metrics.
• Build internal collaborations and external partnerships in support of personal / team professional effectiveness and growth.
Position Requirements
• Minimum 10 years of experience in learning and development and/or leadership development. Experience should include the design and delivery of development initiatives in a business environment, with use of a variety of delivery methods and platforms.
• Preferably with 2 or more years of team management and leadership experience.
• Mix of in-house and consulting experience preferred.
• Demonstrated track records of engaging and building relationships with full-range leadership levels and frontline workers alike.
• Demonstrated track records of sustaining long-term supplier partnerships, while demonstrating the ability to negotiate optimized contracts.
• Experienced in creating / co-creating learning solutions with in-house subject-matter experts, external development partners.
• Competent in facilitating virtual and in-person training sessions.
• Proficient in navigating an LMS/LXP and leverage its functionalities to achieve their results, including tracking learning participation and improving L&D metrics.
• Ability to work within a matrix environment, prioritize across stakeholders’ needs.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. May include international travel.
