Unit Overview

The Data and support officer will support the Nutrition & Health Manager and the Sustainability Analyst within the Social Impact unit. The core roles of the unit are: (1) developing strategies, approaches, and tools that catalyse and support business action toward the achievement of sustainability goals; (2) identifying needs and sustainability risk across the supply chains; (3) monitoring, evaluating, and reporting for impact and (4) facilitating and contributing to internal and external learning, sharing, aligning, and influencing. The unit is composed of subject matter experts in Nutrition & Health, Human Rights & Inclusion, and Livelihoods, as well as experts in data and communications. The team supports businesses to identify sustainability risks and opportunities, and design and implement programs. The team provides tools, guidance and sometimes coordination and programme management for businesses to implement approaches and achieve objectives to improve farmers' livelihood and create positive impact on communities and landscapes where we operate. The team also promotes alignment and cross-learnings across business units, participates in global platforms and influences the wider sector agenda, while learning from other experts and stakeholders, and promoting ofi’s reputation.

Key Responsibilities

The Data and support officer will support both the Sustainability Analyst and the Nutrition & Health Manager in their role approximately 50% each. The role is a support role focused on: 

 

  • Gathering data from different teams and sources
  • Reaching out to teams around the globe to ensure they understood the request and make sure they deliver on time
  • Organizing and analyzing data and 
  • Support both the Sustainability Analyst and Nutrition & Health Manager in specific ad-hoc tasks.

Data & Digital Workstream

Under the data & digital workstream, the Project Manager Social Sustainability will work under the direct supervision of  the Sustainability Analyst  and Project coordinator Officer according to the repartition below:

 

Farmers data Segmentation (est. 10% of time)

  • Extract and clean OFIS data
  • Analyze farmers segments
  • Prepare reports, that will be used to guide the field teams in providing customized support to farmers.

 

Living Income tool calibration (est. 10% of time)

  • Liaise with BU and origin team to organize good quality economic data collection from representative set of farmers
  • Support BU and origin teams to set up the OFIS question, and analyze the answers
  • Support the Sustainability Data Analyst and project coordinator to calibrate the LI tool for the priority ofi supply chains identified.

 

Sustainability data collection and tools integration: (est. 10% of time)

  • Supporting sustinability data collection and anaylsis for Annual Report, GRI, WBA, and other external reports.
  • support on collecting, compiling and analyzing the data. Lease with BU data provider focal points.
  • Support the Sustainability Data Analyst and project coordinator  in the work alongside the digital team and making sure that the needs of the social impact team in terms of data collection are considered. 

 

Data visualization solutions (5% of time)

  • Support the Sustainability Data Analyst & Project Coordinator with the “Geodata Web-viewer” platform and any innovative tool of data visualization to help decision making. .
  • Innovative solutions (5%)
  • Support the Sustainability Analyst & Project Coordinator in the search and integration of innovative solutions around of  data collection, analysis, visualization, IMSA, etc.


 

Other data support (est. 10% of time)

  • Annual report data collection
  • Ad-hoc support to the Sustainability Analyst

Nutrition & Health

Under the direct supervision of the Nutrition & Health Manager, the Data and support officer’s tasks will include, but are not limited to:

 

Farmer Nutrition & Health (est. 20% of time)

  • Conduct a mapping of existing nutrition and health projects across all product platforms.
  • Support the Nutrition & Health Manager to roll out Farmer Nutrition & Health Toolkit.
  • Gather feedback on the use of the Farmer Nutrition & Health Toolkit to inform opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the Nutrition & Health Manager to develop contextually appropriate iterations of the Farmer Nutrition & Health Toolkit


Workforce Nutrition Scorecard (est. 20% of time)

  • Support the onboarding all worksites to the G17 platform to fill out their scorecard on this platform.
  • Transfer the data from the existing scorecard files and master Excel file to the G17 platform. Liaising with HR/sustainability leads to ensure information transferred (both for the scorecard and the worksite) is correct.
  • Follow up with HR/sustainability leads to identify worksites that have not yet conducted the scorecard as well as worksites that will conduct the scorecard for the second time.
  • Support the Nutrition & Health Manager to introduce the scorecard to new teams and encourage workforce nutrition activities.
  • Follow up with HR/business leads and HR representatives to assess progress against the action plan and prepare for the second round of the scorecard.
  • Follow up with teams to assess progress related to the scorecard and action plans.
  • Follow up with teams to develop case studies and identify best practices.
  • Report on our progress on workforce nutrition, and visualize this using e.g. PowerBI or Canva.


ofi Healthy Living (OHL) (est. 10% of time)

  • Support the Nutrition & Health Manager to develop and launch campaigns to promote the ofi Healthy Living co-funding mechanism.
  • Support proposals’ assessment, and work with the country-product teams to further improve their proposal.
  • Support follow-up of intervention implementation.
  • Collect ofi Healthy Living data.
  • Follow-up with teams to develop case studies and identify best practices.

Competencies

  • A strong personal interest for sustainabile agriculture
  • Experience and strong interest in data management, with strong attention to details.
  • Very organized and ability to follow up with tact, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrating proactivity, and perseverance.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a diverse, international team and environment.
  • Critical thinking skills, organisational skills, and the ability to effectively and autonomously complete tasks.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel. Understanding of databases and GIS would be a plus.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English. French, Spanish or other languages are highly desired.
